I have Amazon Music, so I can listen to anything. But the truth is that most music is trash. And a lot of what the world loves sounds terrible. It used to be Satan and his minions could come up with pretty catchy music, but he seems to cast favor more on untalented people while using spiritual power to make the world love it anyway. Consequently, after Ryan Ellis‘ (2) latest album ended yesterday, Amazon fed me Ryan Stevenson who I really enjoyed and hadn’t heard before. And I love singers with a good falsetto and R&B feel. Of course, I don’t look artists up for fear I’ll find out things that’ll prevent me from listening to their music, as I have so little to enjoy already (A lot of “Christian” artists aren’t actually). So I wait for a song where the messaging is off and then I investigate. Often what I’m thinking in my head differs from the artist’s intention anyway.
So I’ll highlight a couple songs I really enjoyed.
And far from what the music industry would promote is a regular looking guy just doing some nice music. A more talented version of Robin Thicke, who has turned into a perverted alcoholic apparently, as that deal with the devil is tough to swallow, unlike the alcohol.
This is actually a nice song of how your Christian walk can speak volumes as you live your life. It can be that you’re that one guy in the office not sleeping with all the 304s even when given the opportunity, or standing up for ethical business practices, not drinking and drugging like the world… Not that we’re all that much better, but we’re trying and helped by God, while conformed into the likeness of Christ through life’s trials and tribulations.
