‘Pastor’ Kevin M. Young Makes Heretical Claim that Jesus Affirmed Pederasty

Since I have covered the movement to normalize pedophilia, there are now false teachers making attempts to normalize pedophilia by twisting scripture. It’s inevitable that those normalizing deviant sexual practices against God and nature can’t help descending further because of their debased mind which God said was their punishment. And notice at the end of Romans 1 at bottom, that they increasingly become capable and approving of even worse sin. But trying to twist God’s Word has horrible consequences for eternity.

Jude 12–13

[12] These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; [13] wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever. As the number of Christians who dabble in the heresy of affirming various forms of sexual deviancy continues to increase, the proponents of homosexuality within the walls of Christendom have become bolder in their assertion that God is pleased with all stripes of “alphabet people.”

The 2023 release of the pro-homosexuality documentary 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, accelerated the LGBTQ cause within various progressive Christian circles by giving the campaign a thin veneer of academic respectability. The creators of the film attempted to subvert numerous crystal-clear passages of scripture that describe homosexuality as an abomination, thousands of years of Biblical teaching against homosexuality, and the ever-apparent common grace understanding that homosexuality is “contrary to nature” as described in Romans 1.

The films’ arguments hinge on the idea that a mistranslation of the Greek word that the Apostle Paul used for homosexuality led the church to adopt an overly restrictive doctrine that banned all homosexuality rather than a subset of pedophilic abusive homosexuality known as pederasty.

The film’s proponents seek to prove that Paul was against pederasty and not in opposition to consensual homosexual relationships between consenting adults. The practice of pederasty in the Roman world involved the use of submissive boys who were sexually abused by older men, on whom the former were often financially dependent.

The argument presented in the documentary is not new, but one that has been marketed frequently over the past 50 years as a gateway to the full affirmation of homosexuality in the church. Arguments for consensual homosexuality and against pederasty have been effective in putting distance between the broader gay rights movement and pedophilia-driven portions of the movement that included such organizations as the National American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).

Discontent with the affirmation of garden variety consensual sodomy by progressives within the church, perennial heretic, impastor Kevin Young, founder of Christ’s Table, an online church for deconstructed Christians, recently made the argument that Jesus affirmed pederasty. Young believes that the word for servant used by Matthew, in his Gospel account of the faith of the centurion is actually a word that describes a young “gay lover”.

Young goes on to argue that the “Gay Lover” that he contrived from the verbiage of Matthew 8 was likely younger but reassures everyone that they shouldn’t worry because while pederasty sometimes involved underage boys (presumably under 12), it usually only involved 12 to 18 year-olds.

Young turns the Gospel narrative on the faith of the centurion into a first-century Marxist identity-politics struggle session, as he argues that Jesus rejects the Law of God in favor of placing a gay man who sexually abuses a younger man at a place of honor in the Kingdom of God.

Young’s arguments are easily debunked. The Gospel of Matthew isn’t the only Gospel account of the centurion. Luke’s Gospel contains the same story, but Luke uses the word “Doulos” to describe the subject of the centurion, a common Greek word that clearly means slave or servant rather than the submissive object of a pederastic relationship.

Young’s open affirmation of pederasty should not surprise careful observers of culture, as various institutions, including the United Nations have begun calling for the normalization of sexual relationships between minors and adults. The slope is slippery, and the next steps down the slope of descent are the normalization of polygamy, polyamory, pederasty, and pedophilia.

The alphabet people will add more letters to their depraved encyclopedic movement of sexual deviance, but God will not be mocked. The choice that the modern believer faces in these matters is Christ or chaos, as the chasm between the never-changing standard of scripture and the hellbent rebellion of the culture widens.

Romans 1:18–32

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

[18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. [19] For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. [20] For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. [21] For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. [22] Claiming to be wise, they became fools, [23] and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

[24] Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, [25] because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

[26] For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; [27] and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

[28] And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. [29] They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, [30] slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, [31] foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. [32] Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. (ESV)
