I listened to the interview on audio, and found it pretty compelling, though worth noting I don’t trust FBI agents to even speak with one (you can go to prison for giving a false statement to an FBI agent, or thought to have done so via them lying, filing a false report – get an attorney if you have to). And we’ve seen the political cases, unfair federal trials with judges denying your lawful defense… Consequently, there used to be a six week cycle where the FBI would use CIs to gin up cases to drop in the news to make sure they keep their budget up… So Steve Friend (another are we in simulation name) gives a look into how the FBI operates with quotas, bonuses, unethical behavior around reporting what they actually do… And pay attention to how many special agents they have, and a minor point is how little priority they gave to CSAM enforcement while the feds are trying to use protecting the children to bring in digital ID.
