LineageOS 24 is the antidote for AI

This is a good review of LineageOS 24, Android 17, with the only quibble being that I’d install this on a new phone, though they usually add older phones to the supported models with the exception of the Pixel and a couple others. LineageOS has a long history of taking the opensource Android operating system and compiling it with patches and some alternative apps for a lot of phones with weekly updates, only limited by Google’s source code releases which they’ve been slowing down. Google is probably being pressured by governments to place limits on GrapheneOS which has been very successful in blocking governments from getting into phones, with a big ongoing case where a person gave customs the wipe PIN for his phone while trying to conduct a search, where he’s being charged for destroying evidence in federal court. Consequently, anyone can be required to hand over their phone or computer and give PIN or password for a search when coming into the country under the guise they’re looking for child porn, basically a violation of the fourth amendment with no criminal suspicion or probable cause.
