I’m waiting for the JerryRigEverything video where he literally tears it apart and tests where the screens scratch as well as the frame, also including a flex test, burn test… Supposedly the Duo has some kind of flexible glass layer so it should do better with the folding screen than the other plastic ones from Samsung scratching with a fingernail. I’ve never been that impressed with these folding screen gimmick phones having a fold limit countdown timer in your head, and they’re usually too flimsy and don’t hold up well to dust. Nor would I spend gaming computer desktop money on a phone for my pocket, but then I’m happy with my $120 Moto G 5G with LineageOS installed. And except for a few things I do with my phone, I prefer to use a real computer, with my old 14 inch Chromebook running Arch being light and small enough to take with me for anything overnight.
This is a great channel for his unique phone reviews you won’t find anywhere else. Most regular phones he can actually put back together and get to work even with the abuse.
And a real review of the Duo with how the trick with the matt foldable display isn’t as great as people make it out to be. Consequently, you have to give it to Apple for a few gimmicks and engineering choices, though the elephant in the room is the front face screen geometry. Even if I were rich, that would be a deal breaker beyond the closed source operating system…
