Bitcoin Just Fired The Miners (Hard Fork)

The Bitcoin hard fork went live a couple days early and mining blocks with the hash, originally stated for Sep. 1st. My hard fork node is still downloading the blockchain (less than 100k blocks to go) and Luke Dashjr hadn’t put out the latest version of the software yet, so I’ll wait and compile when my node catches up and he puts out the new version I can pull in with git. This should be a fun experiment to watch, especially how hard will the suitcoiner banker assets attack it. They’ll certainly break out and sell all their hard fork coins and tank the price with exchanges along with some other propaganda games. They were already running a campaign to try and get people to stick with the legacy Bitcoin chain and fight for it instead of leaving. And be aware of replay attacks and wait for a way to separate out your coins. I was planning to hold both chains, but if there is a good price on the forked coin it might be advantageous to cash in on the selloff and buy back in later when cheaper. Hopefully, the existence of the hard fork will scare legacy Bitcoin from doing any crazy changes causing people to sell and move to the hard fork. This is the dramatic test of what can happen if Bitcoin became captured and/or the devs went too far, especially obsoleting the mining equipment with a new mining hash. And there will be a lot of beneficial changes to the software and protocol on the hard fork side that have been stifled on the legacy side for years. Over time I think we’ll see hard fork side gather more and more users to hopefully one day become the dominant version of Bitcoin.
