I was just starting to find Simon Dixon interesting, but this video was just propaganda. They were trying too forcibly to get people to abandon the BIP-110 soft fork and impending hard fork to come back to captured Bitcoin. The failure of BIP-110 showed that Bitcoin is captured with the corporate miners colluding together. It also bothers me the push to multisig and using third parties, as the Coldcard theft was because they secretly removed the devices using the hardware random number generator falling back to a deficient library they created, and not a fault of single signature self-custody. And many wallets properly employ randomness in creating private keys. And worth pointing out that BTC Sessions took money from and were big promoters of Coldcard wallets, even with all the red flags by CEO Rodolfo Novak, which tells me their deductive reasoning is deficient, or they’re co-opted (promoting the Blockstream Jade is also a problem). Another tell is Simon listing his investments in crypto firms and being at industry meetings… Consequently, a forked Bitcoin will get crushed when the legacy Bitcoin players break out and dump their coins, but after a while of cleaning up the protocol, mining, nodes, SPAM… It could end up being a major draw and get a lot of us dissatisfied regular folks to support it. And their is no risk to see what happens, as what coins you own in Bitcoin, you’ll own in the hard fork, which can advance mightily with the big Bitcoin industry removed from impeding progress, including adding privacy features. So did big Bitcoin overplay their hand?
