This is very interesting in that governments are stepping out of the shadows and getting directly involved verses the subtle megacorp board co-opting of opensource projects. The German government has now donated to Arch to rewrite Pacman in Rust, as well as giving a large donation to KDE (lots of other opensource projects listed in article). And these kinds of large donations don’t come without strings and influence. Consequently, with the worldwide push towards age verification and digital ID, the megacorp operating systems and projects are onboard, but opensource is not being overlooked as they’re pushing for global dystopian surveillance, all for the incoming Antichrist’s totalitarian regime.
