Iran Fired Over 100 Missiles At USS Lincoln Aircraft Carrier, Pushing It Back (Video)

It’s good to see they’re pulling the carrier damaged by the laundry fire. Though the problem with intercepting the inbound missiles, is they only have so many surface to air missiles distributed throughout the group, leaving you vulnerable if your enemy can send enough weapons towards you. And why no US naval vessels dare enter the Persian Gulf to protect shipping. It would seem the Iranians have enough weapons hidden they can keep rolling out, and why do Muslims always sound so ignorant when launching their weapons?

The Iranian military claimed on March 25 that it had targeted the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier with cruise missiles.

Press TV published a video stating that the military fired missiles at the carrier, while the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) provided some details on the attack, citing naval officials.

According to IRNA, the commander of the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, said that the movements of the “enemy” aircraft carrier Lincoln are under continuous monitoring and would be targeted once it enters the range of Iran’s missile systems.

The agency said that cruise missiles capable of striking ships were launched from the coast toward the carrier, forcing it to change position.

The Lincoln came under attack on multiple occasions since the start of the American-Israeli war on Iran more than months ago.

In fact, President Donald Trump revealed just a day earlier that Iran fired 101 missiles at the aircraft carrier. He claimed, however, that “every single one was knocked down on the sea.”

“They shot 100 missiles at one of our aircraft carriers, one of the biggest ships in the world, actually. And of 101 missiles shot, every single one of them was knocked down. So you think of it, think of what that means. 101 missiles, highly sophisticated, very fast missiles shot, and of 101, all 101 were shot down, and now for the most part lying at the bottom of the sea,” Trump stated.

The Carrier Air Wing Nine — including dozens of F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter jets, EA-18G Growler electronic attack jets, and F-35C Lightning II stealth fighter jets — has been launching strikes against targets in the Islamic Republic from the Lincoln, currently present in the Arabian Sea.

The Iranian claims about pushing back the Lincoln are true. The BBC recently located the carrier, based on satellite images, some 240 kilometers off the coast of Oman, and other reports suggest that it may be as far as 1,000 kilometers from the Islamic Republic.

It’s worth noting that when the war first broke out, the U.S. had a second aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, in the Middle East.

The carrier first launched strikes from the eastern Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Israel, then moved into the northern Red Sea. Nevertheless, a fire broke out at the carrier’s laundry room, causing considerable damage and forcing it to withdraw to the Greek island of Crete where it will reportedly get [repaired] and depart back to the U.S.

In any case, the U.S. is now fighting under more pressure than it anticipated, and with less assets. A third carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush is reported to be on its war to the Middle East to join the war on Iran, but the deployment will likely take some time.
