I was aware of John MacArthur’s LSB Bible project, but I had waited to let some more information come out about it and see if it was adapted to his study Bible notes and put out for the Kindle. I prefer using my Kindle for reading the Bible every morning as it’s easy to hold, read, navigate through the study Bible notes… But I hadn’t seen much if any coverage of it as the years went by, and I was happy with my ESV study Bibles including John’s. So this video came up in my feed today, and it was informative, and there is a Kindle version now with the second version LSB Bible. And worth pointing out, this was a huge project John MacArthur was happy to have completed before his going home.
The navigation of the Kindle version is a little wonky compared to the other study Bibles, but usable.
And another video of interest from the pastor above.
When I was saved and read the entire Bible, it was the KJV. And not being from the 1600s, I’m not a huge fan and happy to move on to the new English translations. The first was the NKJ, then NIV 84, and though I liked the NASB, I never appreciated how it was locked down and expensive. And like the NASB, another great literal translation is the ESV which became my favorite, and it was available for free download to your computer and not as encumbered.
