This is an excellent presentation with the beginning dedicated to why privacy is important. And there are some good tips, most of which I already employ. And feel free to use my SearxNG instance for search, checked for updates daily. He linked to some resources in the presentation, which I’ll put below.
Something for Android not mentioned, you can go into app info and Force Stop apps. So if you have a few that you need but aren’t the most privacy respecting, Force Stop them until you need them, and when finished Force Stop them again. Most apps will run in the background as a default of Android with no easy way to prevent this. As I go back into app info, the Force Stop option is grayed out showing they’re still stopped. Given that Android is really a data gathering operation, they make the default that all this stuff runs and can spy on you. Consequently, Graphene OS is going to become a real necessity soon, but I’m still enjoying my $19 Motorola Stylus 2023 from Boost Mobile, still being updated with my grandfathered $15/mo 5GB prepaid plan with unlimited calls and texts.
