UMC Church in Texas Paints Its Steps in Rainbow Colors in Opposition to Governor’s Directive

This false church is advocating for sin against God while also violating scripture in rebellion to its state leadership as led by their female pastor. But then they obviously don’t believe the Bible nor probably in the deity of Christ, so they’re unbelievers still in their sin headed to the second death. On the positive, if people actually read their Bible, they’ll extricate themselves from this false church. What’s truly interesting, is when God extracts His church from the world before unleashing judgement on those who have rejected Him, how many of these churches will still be there with most of their members and pastors? The answer is most.

Oak Lawn United Methodist Church has begun painting its front steps in LGBT rainbow colors, symbolizing support for the community amid Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s push to remove such markings from public spaces.

The project, led by congregant Robert Garcia Sr., started Tuesday and will take two weeks, including non-slip sealing. Church leaders frame it as a message of inclusion, not protest.

“We are painting our front steps in the colors of the rainbow because silence is not love. We want every person who passes by to know: you are safe, you are seen, you are beloved by God.” – Church Facebook post.

Pastor Rachel Griffin-Allison called it “an act of sacred resistance in the face of what is happening in our state and in our country.” She added, “This is a visible witness to the gospel we preach: that every person is created in the image of God and worthy of safety, dignity and belonging.”

Abbott’s directive, issued earlier this month, orders the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to withhold funding from entities with rainbow crosswalks, citing safety. On October 8, TxDOT announced removals statewide.

“Texans expect their taxpayer dollars to be used wisely, not advance political agendas on Texas roadways,” Abbott stated. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy echoed: “Taxpayers expect their dollars to fund safe streets, not rainbow crosswalks.”

TxDOT’s Marc D. Williams warned: “Non-standard surface markings… may cause confusion, reduce roadway uniformity, and impair… safety.”
