As Bitcoin is in a major fight for control with compromised Bitcoin Core Devs trying to trash the protocol with SPAM and data to damage and endanger node runners while not fixing the bug they introduced with Taproot which is being exploited to add SPAM currently, Bitcoin Knots nodes have jumped from 19% to 23.76% as node runners are becoming aware of this issue. And of even more interest is a lot of Bitcoin Knots nodes have updated to version 29.1, or were spun up to v29.1. So as Bitcoin Core devs pushing for the change with Bitcoin Core v30 are disrespecting node runners, the backbone of independence and sovereignty of the protocol, the real Bitcoin advocates are rejecting them and their software.

So will Bitcoin transition to a new group of developers? Will this head towards a hard fork? And will the promise of Bitcoin survive another attempt at hijacking it along the lines of Bitcoin Cash, which was really an attempt to destroy node runners by blowing up the blockchain so that only the corporations in the space would be able to run nodes holding an enormous blockchain. And if the OP_RETURN limit is blown up to 100k bytes, there is no doubt the blockchain will be filled with CSAM and other illegal content to make it legally problematic to run your own node, with only large corporations in the space able to run nodes with some sort of legal indemnification they can arrange through their lobbyists. Bitcoin has the means to survive if the users act together.
