These types of ALPR cameras are on police cars, private security, and repo tow trucks; all uploading license plates with location and time data to databases that can be searched later. I’ve watched a repo guy look up where a car has been spotted to figure out where they worked, and then go and grab the vehicle. Even if you don’t carry a smartphone with GPS tracking, your movements are probably in a database.
