Israel Renews Strikes On Iran, Destroys Large Missile Base

Trump’s comments kind of give away the game, and contradicts Rubio’s statement about us not being directly involved with Israel who acted alone for their own self-defense. And I’ve seen reports that our military jets were helping to shoot down the drones launched from Iran. If there is a really muted response from Iran after they deal with the assassinated leadership, you’d have to wonder if this was conciliatory and a way to save face in being compliant. And did they assist Israel in removing people dangerous to their own country after assisting the west in significantly damaging Hezbollah? As the air defense operation with drones within Iran was so much more successful than Ukraine’s attempt against Russia. Will the west now embrace Iran and rollback sanctions after these operations conclude? And the article had several videos I didn’t include.

“I think it’s been excellent. We gave them a chance and they didn’t take it. They got hit hard, very hard. They got hit about as hard as you’re going to get hit. And there’s more to come. A lot more,” Trump said in a phone interview with ABC News.

Israel renewed strikes on Iran on June 13 afternoon, hitting a large missile base, multiple air bases and several other targets.

The strikes were a continuation of the large-scale attack, codenamed “Operation Rising Lion,” that Israel launched in the early morning with the aim of destroying Iran’s nuclear program. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) led the attack, with support from the Mossad spy agency.

“At this hour, the IDF is continuing the attack plan, [to achieve] the goals of the operation, alongside strong defense of Israel,” military Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said at a press conference, adding that “the operation is only beginning.”

In a later statement, the IDF announced that it had completed a series of strikes targeting Iran’s “surface-to-surface missile infrastructure.”

According to the military, the strikes destroyed dozens of missile launchers, storage facilities and additional military sites in recent hours, including a concealed launch system hidden inside shipping containers in western Iran.

The operation was based on precise intelligence and aimed at neutralizing a major threat, the military said, warning that Iran’s missile arsenal includes weapons with ranges of thousands of kilometers, posing a danger “to the region and the entire world.”

Videos posted to social networks showed large blasts at an area near the city of Tabriz, the capital city of East Azerbaijan province, where a large missile base is located. Other videos showed a massive fire at the city’s airport, home to the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) 22 Tactical Fighter Squadron, which operates MiG-29 fighter jets. Air defense systems are also reported to be deployed there.

Strikes also hit the airport near the provincial capital of Hamadan, where the IRIAF’s 31 Tactical Fighter Squadron wants to deployed Su-35 fighter jets reportedly purchased from Russia.

A large fire was also seen in footage from the coast of the province of Bushehr, although it is not clear yet if any naval facilities there were targeted.

In the morning, the Natanz uranium enrichment facility was hit, with the IDF reporting extensive damage there. Most of the air defenses in Iran’s western and central region were allegedly wiped out by the Israeli Air Force and commandos deployed by the Mossad.

On top of all of that, senior commanders, including the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and nuclear scientists were assassinated.

At least 20 senior Iranian commanders, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, were killed.

Among the senior officials killed were the commanders of the IRGC’s drone unit and air defense unit, according to a statement by the IDF, which said that the officials who led the 2019 drone attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia were also killed.

“Hajizadeh publicly pledged allegiance to the idea of destroying Israel on multiple occasions in recent years and played a central role in formulating the plan to destroy Israel,” the military added.

Amid the latest strikes, United States President Donald Trump said that the Israeli attack on Iran was “excellent” and warned there is much more to come.

“I think it’s been excellent. We gave them a chance and they didn’t take it. They got hit hard, very hard. They got hit about as hard as you’re going to get hit. And there’s more to come. A lot more,” Trump said in a phone interview with ABC News.

ABC News reported that when the U.S. president was asked whether there was American participation in the strikes, he said: “I don’t want to comment on that.”

Iran, which vowed to response harshly, has already launched more than a hundred suicide drone at Israel. All of the drones were, however, intercepted before reaching Israel, according to the IDF. A more serious response is expected, although Iran, again, appears to be hesitating.
