A wonderful look at one of the premium trucks used in the EU, which should be offered over here in the states. Currently, a YouTube influencer has this truck from the manufacturer to bring to truck shows. let people test drive it, as well as getting their feedback. And it seems Scania is contemplating bringing their trucks to America. Of interest, I’ve seen some EU trucks in use around the L.A. port in some Daily Rider motorcycle commute test ride videos (cleaner emissions for California and the port is probably the impetus). A huge perk of bringing these to America would be the pressure on American manufacturers to improve their game. One other thing to pay attention to in the video is the retarder as opposed to having a jake brake, engine compression braking. I have some familiarity with EU trucks from playing some European Truck Simulator, and the maneuverability of their trucks is outstanding, and required with the narrow streets in the EU. Another thing not covered, is they actually learn routes, shift points, climbs… to improve fuel efficiency and operation.
