I had been previously listening to W4HTP as with the N2GE’s Broadcastify stream being down, but that’s been restored now. An easy way to listen is on your phone with the Scanner Radio App which usually has this at the top of the active list. They’ve been doing an excellent job disseminating information, and from my listening, it’s people helping their neighbors with churches providing hot meals and supplies and lots of volunteers and supplies coming from outside the area via private parties. Also, there were reports that electrical crews have come into the area from as far away as Florida and Canada to help get power restored. I had a previous post on Duke energy with hundreds of substations offline and worth watching to see if they have damaged transformers and how long it takes to get them back working, as transformers are susceptible to a major solar flare that happens about every 500 years per limited historical data.
