(The Center Square) – The Denver City Council approved $10.9 million to install four solar carports with electric vehicle charging stations at four local high schools.
The City Council approved the plan as part of a larger $44.3 million project that extends to 2046. This is part of the Denver Community Solar Program.

The City Council approved the expenditure this week. The city of Denver will retain ownership of the solar carports and EV charging stations.
The city stated that 100% of the bill credits generated by the four solar carports will be donated to reduce the utility bills of about 200 low-income Denver Public Schools’ families.
