BMW motorcycles used to be a quality outfit in contrast to their eventual money pit cars and SUVs, but they have a huge problem with their inline four cylinder motorcycle engines. And their lack of standing behind their product should be a signal to avoid the brand altogether. Back when I bought my motorcycle, the break in period was a recommendation and you managed it yourself, but some guys that were going to race their bikes didn’t observe the break in period and it was fine and usually made the bikes just a bit more revvy at the cost of longevity which wasn’t a concern for a racer. So the reasons for BMW refusing warranty service are pretty bizarre, and clearly there was a manufacturing or assembly issue which is much more common today with the quality of workers declining. And I’ll point out this is a sport bike which should handle being revved through the range with a rev limiter so you don’t spin the engine up too much (I bounced off the rev limiter on my sportbike a time or two without issue). And across the board a lot of manufacturers are cheapening up their products with less concern for quality and longevity, so getting a new vehicle isn’t what it used to be.
