Something that bothers me greatly about some pastors and Christians is a desperate plea for ministry, because someone could go to hell because you didn’t share the gospel message with them. But as Christ said no one can come to the Him unless the Father draws them, so salvation is a divine work of God and the Book of Life was completed before the creation came into being through predestination and election, as God exists outside of time. So this is God’s work and plan, and thankfully none of it hinges on my human effort. Since God calls and saves, at most we are there to share information and point those called into having a personal relationship with God so they can flourish in the life they have left before joining Christ in Heaven. Consequently, John MacArthur below does a much better job elucidating the point, so enjoy a message from the perspective of a man with a long life in following God, studying scripture, and watching God work in his life and that of his congregation.
