When our Lord and Savior was fasting for 40 days in preparation for His ministry as a man in tune with and relying on the Holy Spirit, Satan visited him to tempt Him. This was God in the flesh, so Satan couldn’t lie to Him, but Satan did give Him a way to bypass death on the cross.
Luke 4:5–8
[5] And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, [6] and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. [7] If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” [8] And Jesus answered him, “It is written,
“‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’” (ESV)
Paul elaborates on Satan and his hierarchy of demons, fallen angels who rebelled against God.
Ephesians 2:1–3
[1] And you were dead in the trespasses and sins [2] in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—[3] among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. (ESV)
And the ruler of this world, the god of this world, has power over his subjects.
2 Corinthians 4:3–5
[3] And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. [4] In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. [5] For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. (ESV)
Of course God uses Satan to accomplish His ends, and Satan is obedient or he would be locked away.
Job 1:6–12
Satan Allowed to Test Job
[6] Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. [7] The LORD said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” [8] And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” [9] Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? [10] Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. [11] But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.” [12] And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. (ESV)
The most interesting part of that story is that God is outside of time, a dimension of this universe and God’s creation, and God knows the end before the beginning. And Satan knows this about God, but still used the situation to do evil to Job, having to know that Job would be faithful or God would not have extolled him. Consequently, through Job’s suffering, his faith was proven and he was visited by God, and we have a powerful book in scripture that shows sometimes suffering is not because of our transgressions, but God’s will for His purposes. And God promises to work out all things for good to those who love Him.
Furthermore, Jesus’ favorite Apostle John confirms the god of this world, Satan.
1 John 5:19
[19] We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (ESV)
Scriptural evidence is pretty solid that God has given this world into Satan’s hand, ultimately to accomplish His will in separating the goats from the sheep, so all those that love God can through His gift join God in eternity, with all those that reject God being removed for eternity. Moreover, Jesus, God as a man, says all those not reconciled to God are the children of Satan.
John 8:44–47
[44] You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. [45] But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. [46] Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? [47] Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” (ESV)
And the clearest verse in the Bible to describe this wicked world run by demons which would be full of lies and conspiracies.
Ephesians 6:12
[12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (ESV)
The actual Bible believing and God following portion of the world has always been small, so in this wicked world system why do people believe their leaders, the media, professionals, scientists…without significant effort to verify their claims. Blindly following the children of Satan is foolishness. Of course Satan and his hierarchy of fallen angels are running nefarious conspiracies, and today they’re not even veiled from you. They’ve come out from the shadows and operating right in the open. And with so much wealth concentrated in the hands of so few, it’s never been easier for them to manipulate the world as they prepare for a one world government to be ruled by the final Antichrist.
1 Timothy 6:10
[10] For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. (ESV)
But rest assured God has told us how it ends, and Satan will be dealt with at the end of the Great Tribulation to prepare for Christ’s perfect Millennial Kingdom reign.
Revelation 20:1–3
The Thousand Years
[1] Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. [2] And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, [3] and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. (ESV)
And God’s final proof of the evil in man’s heart and his rebellious nature, Satan is released for his final act of rebellion at the end of the perfect reign of Christ in the Millennial Kingdom. After which, Satan will be removed forever with the rest of those who rejected God.
Revelation 20:7–10
The Defeat of Satan
[7] And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison [8] and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. [9] And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, [10] and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (ESV)
Maranatha!
