I always kind of suspected Andy Stanley of being a sodomite, and he would certainly qualify for the Romans 1 turning over as a judgement from God with his false teaching and distorting of God’s word. And it would certainly fit how he has filled his church with so much promotion of the homosexual lifestyle. But he’d do well to keep Jesus’ name and words out of his mouth as he promotes the sinful lifestyles of the world with his false teaching. There is no salvation without repentance from sin, and turning from sin to God. Affirming a sinful lifestyle and making those under wrath comfortable with their sin will only guarantee their place in hell and a squandered opportunity to be reconciled to God, adopted into the family of God to share eternity with God. And what does God have to say about such false teachers? A warning, “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?”, and concludes with “Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!” And in Galatians the Apostle Paul affirms that a false teacher distorting the Gospel should be accursed, damned to hell, the second death. If I was Andy Stanley or any of the other false teachers, I’d be terrified of a holy and just God who they have blasphemed when His words have made it so clear what awaits them.
Galatians 1:6–9
No Other Gospel
[6] I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—[7] not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. [8] But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. [9] As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. (ESV)
Psalm 50:16–23
[16] But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips? [17] For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you. [18] If you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you keep company with adulterers. [19] “You give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit. [20] You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son. [21] These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you. [22] “Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver! [23] The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!” (ESV)
