But there is a deeper problem as I had a post with the tear down of a failed 1 liter 3 cylinder engine, and the submerged oil pump belt teeth were breaking off and clogging the oil pump pickup causing the failure indicating a severe design flaw. The mentioning of the belt tensioner would indicate possibly another design flaw.
