I never cared for Jars of Clay, but this is an excellent video for how it covers a wide area of “Christian Music”, “Christian radio”…. Real Christian artists have a hard time getting their music out there as most of it presented to the world through labels are false and meant to mislead Christians, and usually artists that couldn’t make it in secular music. Pay attention to the interview with the lead singer of Jars of Clay talking about the The Chosen where he’s involved with the music while he blasphemes Christ, because he has a smile tell.
Interestingly, we were going to a church that actually had Jars of Clay come to do a concert a long time ago, and it was a new style church with decent Biblical doctrine. But was unsettling as it was a modern day entertainment style church with the artist Lincoln Brewster performing. And the pastor would bug out after service to hop in a car service SUV, as we would go to the Saturday evening service (had multiple Sunday services and several satellite campuses). It was being run as a business and at the time had a $15 million dollar budget. Needless to say, we stopped attending as it didn’t seem right. We found the church from sermons on the local radio station which had good doctrine and Biblical content, but like some Christian artists it sounds good for a while until they expose themselves by their fruit. Unfortunately, Christianity is a great way to make money and hustle the people of God while not being one yourself.
