The most interesting part of the series is that people that leave the faith is never because they have studied scripture and it didn’t hold up to examination. The truth of scripture plays out in the world all around us and nothing explains the evil of the human heart at work in the world like the Bible, just read Romans 1 alone to understand. And a most fearful prospect is all the people that think they’re going to heaven, but will be rejected by Christ because He never knew them. And even worse are those that hear and walk away from the faith because they don’t like the words that grant life. As MacArthur makes the point, true Christians are those that love the words that grant eternal life.
