Privacy Guides was recommending this over F-Droid as well as working on their own verification app if I remember correctly from their podcast as I was playing a game, and it looks pretty promising for installing apps directly from their sources with update checks. Their reasons for not recommending F-Droid doesn’t really bother me, as I vet what apps I load from F-Droid. Though the point that not all F-Droid apps are udpated regularly is true, but you can also add repos from the devs to F-Droid as well. Of course this looks like primarily a one man project, so take that into consideration, and if you’re not careful adding sources you could get yourself in trouble, not to mention the recent hacking of dev credentials and using their platforms to upload malware…
