You’d have to think this whole thing is marketing. And it worked, as I’ve seen reports that people are scheduling the release date off from work. And how much money will they make with the $2 billion investment? I personally was never interested in this game, though I watched some kids play it once and they would go to jail within the game, but looking at society, they seem to not register you don’t instantly get out of jail like the game (unless in a blue city). And watching police videos I see a severe lack of reasoning by people committing crimes and being arrested that I suspect is due to programming from playing this game that allows you to commit crimes at will.
