Given the totalitarian shift of the German government, this becomes suspicious. I’m not a huge fan of the Rust programming language and its cult like following, but you have to wonder what the angle is. Is it just to promote Rust being promoted by megacorps as theoretically the language protects software from bugs introduced by new (cheap, foreign) programmers? Or do they control the language and compiler to where they have another agenda? Rust is a moving target and still being developed, so could that be an opening for infecting software? Consequently, the major operating systems are being locked down, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android; so does this fit in with the attacks on free software by IBM/Red Hat? Or Cononical’s insane push to rewrite core Linux utils in Rust while releasing them before they’re ready? The first Rust governance person does appear to be a Red Hat employee…
