Debian Adding “Hard Dependency” on Rust, May Abandon Some PC Architectures

This was the best coverage of the story, and it shows that Debian is sliding downhill with their woke organization. And worth pointing out that Rust is fine for small projects and new programmers who haven’t learned how to safely process pointers in C and C++ (I run Electrs compiled in Rust). A good programmer should be validating data and memory locations so they don’t introduce security vulnerabilities, so a need for a programming language that favors new and inexperienced programmers isn’t necessary, especially when the language and compiler are changing so rapidly. But you see where a push to Rust is a favorite of megacorps that like to hire brand new programmers on the cheap.
