I wonder what the homeowner was using? Another report showed he had a front door with a stained glass type window (why would you have glass in a door that could be broken through to unlock the door), so a smaller caliber handgun might of been enough and why both were killed. Good evaluation and shooting. I wonder why they couldn’t kick in the door? Or were they counting on the resident cooperating? Did he have my old favorite of a cut and V’d 2×4 under the door handle? If you live in a sketchy area and don’t have a storm or security door, it’s cheap and easy. A relative had one on his rental’s garage door that had been broken into previously, and they couldn’t kick it in and just left. So they work, and if nothing else will give you time to retrieve your weapon as some modern door knobs might not hold up like the old ones.

A Houston, Texas, homeowner shot and killed two alleged would-be intruders impersonating police officers Friday around 11 p.m.
ABC 13 reported the suspects came to the home “and allegedly stated they were there to serve a warrant and were seen wearing bulletproof vests, ski masks, and badges around their necks.”
The suspects allegedly tried to make entry into the residence then shot through the front door when they could not get inside. The homeowner returned fire, striking both suspects.
The suspects were pronounced dead at the scene.
