This is an interesting example of how powerless the police are when you have a large amount of citizens who are lawless. All they could do is focus on this one stolen vehicle with damaged rear tires and wait for their opportunity. Consequently, years ago we drove around Stockton, California one afternoon checking out the port facility as it was interesting to see such large ships so far inland off I-5, and some of the area looked pretty sketchy during the day back in the early 2000’s. I’d put Stockton right behind Oakland and Richmond as dangerous places to be after dark because of their lawless segments of the population.
On December 3, 2023, In Stockton California Highway Patrol officers we were dispatched to a very large out of control sideshow occurring at the intersection of El Dorado and Eighth Street. CHP Air Unit-21 informed the officers about a black Camaro attempting to leave the area with its rear tires blown out. A Highway Patrolman attempted to stop the Camaro on 7th street, but the driver refused to stop and accelerated away recklessly in an attempt to evade the officer by returning back into the sideshow crowd. Officers backed off at that point and let CHP AIR-21 follow the Camaro until it exited the sideshow again. Officers attempted stop the Camaro for a second time on El Dorado Street near 9th Street, but the driver fled again, leading officers on a high-speed pursuit that lasted several minutes. The chase ultimately concluded back on El Dorado Street when the Camaro collided with a Highway Patrol vehicle and then crashed into a fire hydrant, rendering the car inoperable. The driver Tyler Siackasorn was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on the following charges:
245(C) – Assault w/Deadly Weapon – No Firearm/Likely GBI Peace Officer/Fireman
496D(A) – Receiving Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle
