I had posted a previous article<\/a> on mifepristone being sold by their pharmacies according to their websites, and it appears they’re backtracking or it was an error like they’ve disclosed. It looks like there might have been a lot of people contacting them, and there was an investment group previously that didn’t want these megacorps selling this dangerous abortion drug. Logically thinking, a drug capable of killing a fetus inside you probably isn’t good for your health, and many women need surgery for bleeding problems<\/a>. But just another example of the “safe and effective” being a lie they shamelessly spew, and how the white coats can harm and kill you just like that developing baby. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Days after Live Action News originally broke the news that both Kroger<\/a> and Sam\u2019s Club<\/a> were displaying the abortion pill mifepristone (200mg) \u2014 also known by its brand name, Mifeprex \u2014 for sale on their pharmacy websites, the grocery store giants have issued statements insisting that the drug was displayed for sale on their websites due to \u201cerrors\u201d in drug listings by \u201cthird-party vendors,\u201d which the pharmacies use to \u201caggregate medication pricing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Live Action News broke the story on the presence of mifepristone on the Kroger pharmacy\u2019s website, other outlets reported on the news, including The Washington Stand<\/a> (TWS). An e-mail was then sent by Danielle Lewis Jones, Head of Communications for Kroger Health, to a senior editor at TWS<\/a>, claiming that \u201cThe Kroger Company Family of Pharmacies do not carry Mifepristone, nor do we dispense it\u201d and that \u201cThe Kroger Family of Pharmacies doesn\u2019t carry Mifepristone and was listed on the Kroger Health Savings Club site in error. It has since been removed<\/strong> and we are requesting a retraction of Kroger\u2019s inclusion in the story\u201d (emphasis added).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This information was confirmed<\/a> by LifeNews, which stated, \u201cDanielle Lewis Jones, Head of Communications for Kroger Health, confimed [sic] to LifeNews today that Kroger is not selling the aboriton [sic] pill and the above listing was made in error by a third-party vendor that operates the Kroger Savings Club web site<\/strong>\u201d (emphasis added).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, Live Action News also received communications from trusted sources stating that they had obtained information from Sam\u2019s Club \u2014 which claimed that their pharmacy\u2019s listing, too, had been due to an error with a third-party pharmacy tool. Live Action News sought to verify this information, and received a swift response from Allison Van Matre, Senior Director of Global Communications for Sam\u2019s Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van Matre provided the following statement \u201con behalf of the company\u201d regarding whether or not Sam\u2019s Club is selling the mifepristone abortion pill as was found on its pharmacy website: \u201cWe use a third-party vendor<\/strong> to aggregate medication pricing, and their tool provided incorrect information<\/strong>\u201d (emphases added).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this week @Kroger<\/a>‘s website listed the abortion pill -mifepristone \u2013 for sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After @LiveActionNews<\/a> broke the story, the national chain received major backlash. Kroger has since apologized, claiming the listing was a mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kroger Health Savings and Sam\u2019s Club websites previously displayed abortion pills <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, Live Action News documented<\/a> that the Kroger Health Savings website, which offers deep discounts on \u201cpopular\u201d prescription drugs for members, was displaying<\/a> the abortion pill (mifepristone) for sale. The grocery store chain\u2019s website (see image below) stated that the drug \u201cend[s] a pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A search of the archived link<\/a> on December 18, 2024, shows the drug was listed<\/a> on the Kroger website (but was removed after news coverage of the abortion drug\u2019s listing came to light). Compare:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live Action News also reported<\/a> that Sam\u2019s Club, a membership warehouse club which is a division<\/a> of Walmart, Inc., was also showing the abortion pill as available on their pharmacy website (see image from the website at that time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that time, Sam\u2019s Club Pharmacy offered this link \u2014 https:\/\/www.samsclub.com\/pharmacy\/rxsavings \u2014 to search drug pricing online. However, that link has since been been redirected to https:\/\/www.samsclub.com\/pharmacy<\/a>, where the ability to search drugs on the website has been removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Family Research Council, which publishes The Washington Stand, tweeted a video<\/a> of the news outlet\u2019s editor-in-chief, Jared Bridges, on FRC\u2019s Washington Watch, discussing how Live Action News\u2019 original reporting on the story led TWS to look into and verify the information as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though the tweet claims that it was \u201cThe Washington Stand\u2019s reporting that led Kroger\u2026 to backtrack on selling the abortion drug mifepristone,\u201d it is unclear at this time if Kroger has truly \u201cbacktrack[ed] on selling\u201d the drug, or if the drug was, in fact, listed due to a third-party error, as Kroger Health claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And indeed, it is an incredibly disturbing possibility that drugs intended to kill could be sold alongside everyday household needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Live Action News has now updated our initial report regarding Kroger, we will continue to monitor the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam\u2019s Club claims third-party website tool was \u2018incorrect\u2019 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Days after publishing our findings regarding Sam\u2019s Club pharmacy, Live Action News was contacted by trusted pro-life sources who said they had either heard second-hand or directly from Sam\u2019s Club that the warehouse club was not, at this current time, dispensing the abortion pill. They stated that Sam\u2019s Club claimed the listing, like Kroger Health\u2019s, was also the result of an error with a third-party vendor which lists drugs and drug prices on the Sam\u2019s Club pharmacy website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Pisciotta, founder of Pro-life Waco, who has led the hometown outreach<\/a> to protest CVS and Walgreens for dispensing abortion drugs, informed Live Action News by e-mail that he called Sam\u2019s Club and the person he spoke with at the general contact phone number \u201cwas not caught off guard by my question.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This \u2014 along with the swift response Live Action News received to our inquiry \u2014 seems to indicate that Sam\u2019s Club has been receiving a number of calls about the drug due to media coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pisciotta felt that the Sam\u2019s Club representative \u201cseemed like she had received other calls and was prepared to deliver the official Sam\u2019s Club message,\u201d which was that a third-party vendor posted incorrect information, and that Sam\u2019s Club was having that information removed. The representative reportedly assured Pisciotta more than once that no Sam\u2019s Club pharmacies are selling the mifepristone abortion pill. Pisciotta said he felt \u201cencouraged\u201d by the response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why there is good reason to be watchful<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live Action News previously<\/a> detailed how pharmacy chains are currently experiencing pressure to become certified to dispense the deadly abortion pill. In June of 2023, Democrat members of Congress pressed<\/a> Walmart, Costco, Safeway, Kroger, and HealthMart to undergo the certification process to dispense mifepristone. Then, as Live Action News previously<\/a> documented, in July of 2024, NYC Comptroller Brad Lander sent letters to pharmacy giants Walmart<\/a>, Costco<\/a>, Kroger<\/a>, Albertsons<\/a>, and McKesson<\/a>, urging them to \u201c[p]rovide abortion medication or risk losing investor confidence\u201d and to \u201cstart dispensing mifepristone without delay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Lander\u2019s demands upon the pharmacy chains, comptrollers from 15 states<\/a> pushed back, calling the move<\/a> \u201cpolitical.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live Action News obtained Kroger Health president Colleen Lindholz\u2019s August 2024 response to Lander\u2019s letter, which stated that Kroger was, at that time, \u201cevaluating becoming REMS certified to dispense this product, including the logistics and as-yet unresolved legal landscape associated with that process, and commit to providing the highest level of care to our patients.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, it was estimated<\/a> that the abortion pill made up a whopping 63% of all abortions committed, totaling over 642,000. It was in January of that year that the Biden-Harris FDA had announced it would allow retail pharmacies to dispense the drug<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest published data by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)<\/a> reveals that since its approval<\/a> in 2000 through the end of December 2022, \u201capproximately 5.9 million women\u201d have used the abortion pill mifepristone in the U.S. for \u201cmedical termination of pregnancy.\u201d The drug is administered in a 200-milligram dosage, and is manufactured under the direction of Danco Laboratories<\/a>, with the generic version under GenBioPro<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
