The company says the device is working well in the second trial patient, who has been using it to play video games and learn how to design 3D objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2016 by Musk and a group of engineers, Neuralink is also building a brain chip interface that can be implanted within the skull, which it says could eventually help disabled patients to move and communicate again, and restore vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September, the startup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/healthcare-pharmaceuticals\/musks-neuralink-receives-fdas-breakthrough-device-tag-brain-implant-2024-09-17\/\">received<\/a> the U.S. Food and Drug Administration&#8217;s &#8220;breakthrough device&#8221; designation for its experimental implant aimed at restoring vision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a wonderful example of controlled opposition, we&#8217;ll revisit this graphic on Elon Musk as he&#8217;s gaining ground with Neuralink (article on Canadian experimental approval below).
