They just make this garbage up, but it’s a book that is citable on Wikipedia where they can try and turn this drivel into having more weight. Looking at this other article<\/a> where they ask the authors questions, their answers are pretty ridiculous. I’m thinking these guys might be spooks, intelligence assets, and the book was published in MI6 land by the Oxford University Press which is suspicious as the UK actively goes after Christians<\/a>. And megacorp media have been trying to link racism and “Christian Nationalism”, with the FBI actively investigating churches and trying to find some kind of link to domestic terrorism. Consequently, as they seem to have largely failed with mass casualty events mainly perpetrated by those they’ve weaponized with gender dysphoria against Christians, would they employ false flag mass casualty events to blame on Christians? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New book argues racism continues because it\u2019s \u2018the life-giving force of a dominant group\u2019s religion\u2019<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhiteness\u201d has become a religion to many Christians in a way that allows racism to continue in America, according to two sociology scholars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Emerson, a sociologist and fellow at Rice University in Texas, and Glenn Bracey, a professor of sociology at Villanova University in Philadelphia, make the case in their new book \u201cThe Religion of Whiteness: How Racism Distorts Christian Faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a unified system of beliefs and practices that worships or sacralizes, not some God in this sense, but whiteness,\u201d Emerson told<\/a> Religion News Service in a recent interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cWhiteness is the god. It declares that everything else that isn\u2019t supporting whiteness is profane, it\u2019s wrong, it needs to be shunned.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the book, Emerson and Bracey argue the \u201creligion of whiteness\u201d governs the majority of white Christians in the U.S. and includes \u201cunique beliefs, practices, sacred symbols, and organizations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They argue the belief system is especially dangerous to people and families of color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking with Religion News Service, Bracey defined \u201cwhiteness\u201d as \u201cthe dominance that white people enjoy over people of color.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emerson said these Christians never call themselves the \u201cChurch of Whiteness,\u201d but they use rhetorical moves to avoid actually saying it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne of them is that Jesus is white, and Jesus by definition is supposed to be for everybody,\u201d he said. \u201cSo Jesus is universal. So as long as Jesus is white and Jesus is universal, then whiteness is universal. And once you do that, you no longer have to name it, because that is truth. Anything else is an argument against truth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emerson told RNS their book has made some \u201cwhite folks \u2026 very, very angry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Bracey said some black people are part of the religion, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of psychological benefit, in addition to monetary benefit, from being a person of color in the religion of whiteness,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople are constantly telling you you\u2019ve done the right thing, you\u2019ve broken from what they would say is the Democratic plantation, you are serious about faith, you put God before race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To determine if people of color support \u201cwhiteness,\u201d Bracey said white evangelical churches have adopted \u201crace tests.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one example, Bracey said he was asked \u201cto adopt a biracial baby\u201d at a predominantly white evangelical Protestant church. In another \u201ctest,\u201d he said he was asked to go up and sing on stage during his first visit to the congregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, Bracey and Emerson argue in their book racism has become so intertwined with religion and American identity that it will not go away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe argue \u2013 and test the argument with data \u2013 that racism and racial injustice have not receded from American life because they are, in good part, the life-giving force of a dominant group\u2019s religion,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their book follows similar themes to another written by Anthea Butler, professor of religious and Africana studies at the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
