And their lack of standing behind their product should be a signal to avoid the brand altogether. Back when I bought my motorcycle, the break in period was a recommendation and you managed it yourself, but some guys that were going to race their bikes didn&#8217;t observe the break in period and it was fine and usually made the bikes just a bit more revvy at the cost of longevity which wasn&#8217;t a concern for a racer. So the reasons for BMW refusing warranty service are pretty bizarre, and clearly there was a manufacturing or assembly issue which is much more common today with the quality of workers declining. And I&#8217;ll point out this is a sport bike which should handle being revved through the range with a rev limiter so you don&#8217;t spin the engine up too much (I bounced off the rev limiter on my sportbike a time or two without issue).
