Any large organization is easily corrupted, whether buying voting stock and placing people on the board, or in charities and non-profits where you give large donations and require board seats to make sure your money is being properly utilized, organizations fall. Throw in other ways of corrupting current members of the board as well as dirty tricks to remove problem members, and control of the organization is easily co-opted. This is why so many supposedly “Christian” organizations actually work against God and Christ in our world. And worth pointing out that some organizations are actually started by Satanist Freemasons to begin with like Billy Graham’s operations including Christianity Today. So The Gospel Coalition is one such organization, and Protestia has highlighted quite a bit of their subversive materials and employees. And really, this looked like a paid promotion to promote the Taylor Swift tour and merchandise which I’ve seen projected to rake in $4 billion<\/a>. We won’t go into the spiritual proponent to her tours where concert goers don’t remember<\/a> part of her show and the rituals enacted<\/a>, but suffices to say in Satan’s world system real Christians don’t enjoy this level of success. And who else but Satan would promote someone like Taylor Swift so heavily to Christians and young people as a means of corrupting them at the end of the church age?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gospel Coaltion (TGC) continues its devolution from a reasonably reformed parachurch ministry to some bizarro Christian version of Cosmopolitan magazine, where half their content could be comfortably published alonside a personality test to see which fierce Bible heroine you are and a flowchart on the \u2018Top 10 Sex Positions for Pastors.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How else do you explain a recently published but-since-pulled article, \u201c7 Things Christians Can Learn from Taylor Swift\u2019s Eras Tour,\u201d<\/a> where, as Ben Zeisloft succinctly put it<\/a>, \u201cThe only person I could see enjoying this type of content is a homosexual with an IQ of 85. Maybe that\u2019s who TGC has been trying to reach all along.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not like we haven\u2019t come to expect this from TGC, with their recent fascination with Taylor Swift and Barbie posts. This is the same organization that brought you TGC Senior Editor\u2019s Favorite TV Show Contains Graphic Homosexual Sex Scene<\/a>, the insistence by a TGC author that Christians Have Endured No \u2018Hostility\u2019 or \u2018Ill-treatment\u2019 From the Govt During the Pandemic<\/a>, and lest we forget: TGC Author Suggests \u2018Deadnaming\u2019 Transexuals is \u2018Disrespectful\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, it has an extra layer of yuck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, author Blake Glosson, who is a middle-aged man and not an eleven-year-old girl, explains that he saw one of her shows recently and was captivated by the fact that \u201cthe spiritual connections were vast.\u201d To this end, he explains what makes Taylor\u2019s shows so moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joy Swifties feel in Taylor\u2019s presence\u2014perhaps even catching a glance from Taylor herself\u2014reflects the joy of drawing near to the only One who knows and loves us perfectly.<\/a>\u201c<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to explain what I felt when I woke up the morning after seeing Taylor Swift. The best way I can describe it is sad joy<\/em>. For all the happy anticipation leading up to the show, the sorrowful realization that it was over tainted my joy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Again, this is a middle-aged man, a pastoral resident, attending a concert of a promiscuous, pro-LGBTQ, pro-choice pop singer whose background dancers aren\u2019t known for their modesty or poor gyrating skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For many, that sorrow started earlier. A friend said, \u201cIt felt like the experience was ending the moment I woke up the day of the concert. My joy was ending as it was starting.\u201d She said this pain continued into the show itself: \u201cAs joyous as it was to see Taylor, we all grieved as we celebrated because we knew the joy would soon be gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile every Taylor follower reflected her differently, they all imaged her\u2014corporately reflecting the full array of her dazzling ensembles. Swifties appreciated Taylor\u2019s beauty more because of each other\u2019s imitations. The words \u201cI love your dress!\u201d were exclaimed countless times that day. Yet it wasn\u2019t just Swifties who noticed the shimmering<\/a> attire of Taylor\u2019s fans. Taylor\u2019s dresses became more visible when worn by her followers. Through Swifties, the world saw Swift.

One of the great joys and privileges given to Christians is to \u201cput on . . . Christ\u201d (Rom. 13:14<\/a>)\u2014to put his sparkling attributes on display to a watching world. We were created to shimmer as jewels on the crown of Christ\u2019s head (cf. Zech. 9:16<\/a>; Mal. 3:16\u201317<\/a>).\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Taylor\u2019s music can awaken our longings but cannot ultimately satisfy our longings. Only Jesus can do that. And union with him brings no sweeter music.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
