The OCGFC seem to be planning a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/environment\/africa-climate-summit-opens-with-focus-financing-continental-unity-2023-09-04\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/blogs\/africasource\/through-carbon-markets-corporations-have-a-role-to-play-in-africas-development-they-should-take-it-seriously\/\" target=\"_blank\">green revolution in Africa where they can sell carbon credits<\/a>. The funny bit is that the OCGFC will buy the credits cheaply from African nations and sell at a much higher price to those needing them to be compliant with the whole net zero sustainable development nonsense. Some of the African nations might be revolting because they want to cut out the middle man and receive the full price, or more likely just replacing governments with more compliant ones. The number of remaining troops is currently unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tensions have been mounting in Niger since President Mohamed Bazoum was overthrown by a group of military leaders last July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision to reposition U.S. troops in Niger came after the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) revealed that Washington was considering the possibility of physically eliminating the leaders of the country\u2019s National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland, who led the military takeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the SVR, intelligence information shows that Washington is not satisfied with the recent developments in Niger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAccording to information received by the SVR, the U.S. is clearly not satisfied with the developments in Niger, where an interim government headed by General Abdourahamane Tchiani recently came to power as a result of a military coup. Washington is considering how not only to slow down the trend of Africa becoming one of the centers of power in the multipolar world, which is dangerous for the West, but also to take over the French legacy in the strategically important Sahel region,\u201d the SVR press office said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Russian intelligence service accused the American intelligence services of \u201creturning\u201d to the practice of liquidating \u201cinconvenient\u201d leaders on the African continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe White House is working on various options for strengthening democracy in Niger. It is considered unjustified to do this with the help of the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS), which has close ties to Paris. The Americans consider the physical elimination of the \u2018junta leaders\u2019 who rely on the support of the majority of the population as a more \u2018effective\u2019 option. US intelligence agencies directly discuss the issue of potential perpetrators of possible assassination attempts with partners,\u201d the SVR said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As the service noted, faced with the \u201cunexpected and extremely unpleasant for itself\u201d \u201cgeopolitical awakening\u201d of Africa, the White House \u201cdecided to resort to the old, what they call, proven recipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. has already voiced its support efforts by the ECOWAS to launch a military intervention against Niger\u2019s new military rulers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>France, who maintains some 1,500 troops in the country, also supported the calls for a military intervention. Earlier this month, Paris warned that it will respond to any attack against its military and diplomatic facilities in the country after it ambassador was asked to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A growing wave of anti-Western sentiment has followed the recent military takeover in Niger, which explains the state of panic in both the U.S. and France.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interesting developments in Niger which could become another element in a new world war.
