For a great background on paganism and how much it has infiltrated society and organized religion including some &#8220;Christian&#8221; versions, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/index.php\/2023\/04\/09\/pagan-origins-of-easter-and-christmas-exposed\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/index.php\/2023\/04\/09\/pagan-origins-of-easter-and-christmas-exposed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jim Staley&#8217;s presentation<\/a> which will blow your mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alphanews.org\/walker-art-center-holds-playful-demon-summoning-session-for-families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/alphanews.org\/walker-art-center-holds-playful-demon-summoning-session-for-families\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-divider ub_divider ub-divider-orientation-horizontal\" id=\"ub_divider_baf7cc0f-ddd2-4304-b020-9a00f1e5b9eb\"><div class=\"ub_divider_wrapper\" style=\"position: relative; margin-bottom: 2px; width: 100%; height: 2px; \" data-divider-alignment=\"center\"><div class=\"ub_divider_line\" style=\"border-top: 2px solid #ccc; margin-top: 2px; \"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Walker Art Center has received millions of dollars in taxpayer funds through Minnesota&#8217;s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>By Hayley Feland<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Walker Art Center held a pagan ritual geared toward families last weekend, with a performance called \u201cLilit the Empathic Demon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDemons have a bad reputation, but maybe we\u2019re just not very good at getting to know them,\u201d an event description <a href=\"https:\/\/walkerart.org\/calendar\/2023\/free-first-saturday-plant-teachers?fbclid=PAAaYUL9ANI6u_XqjDDvUVSeyr80LjQXZ6Erp18DETxjYTrip_L2lS5YfRp7s_aem_AdBu6YyYh3XtO6n2n8QdoOIw3AXvMQYK79Mmv2RVhiO4wDwxgtQrpRamU3q-E7htWwY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reads<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, which took place at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, was part of the Walker\u2019s Free First Saturdays program and featured artist Tamar Ettun who <a href=\"https:\/\/tamarettun.com\/How-to-Trap-a-Demon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">creates<\/a> \u201cdemon traps.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFamilies are invited to create a vessel to trap the demon that knows them best \u2014 perhaps the \u2018demon of overthinking\u2019 \u2014 and then participate in a playful ceremony to summon and befriend their demon,\u201d the website explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was <a href=\"https:\/\/walkerart.org\/free-first-saturdays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">designed<\/a> for families, and finished with a \u201cplayful demon summoning session.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter designing your trap, Lilit the Empathic Demon will come from the dark side of the moon to lead you in locating your feelings using ancient Babylonian techniques,\u201d the website explains. \u201cThis collective and playful demon summoning session will conclude with a somatic movement meditation, designed to help you befriend your shadows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other Walker Art Center Free First Saturdays were 10,000 lakes and \u201990s themed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ettun previously had her <a href=\"https:\/\/tamarettun.com\/How-to-Trap-a-Demon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">artwork<\/a>, \u201cHow to Trap a Demon,\u201d on display in New York at the Richard and Dolly Maass Gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe exhibition parts with the historical gender binarism that associates Lilith\u2019s archetype with unchecked violence and manipulation; here, Lilit mediates the inner demons and renegade instincts that are deliberately silenced,\u201d the exhibition details read. One image shows Ettun washing what appears to be a placenta with a watering can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ettun also has \u201cTexts from Lilith\u201d available for <a href=\"https:\/\/tamarettun.com\/Texts-from-Lilit-artist-book\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sale<\/a> on her website. \u201c31 cards to connect you to your demon,\u201d it says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ettun encourages people to communicate with Lilit by texting \u201cSUMMON\u201d to 833-575-1049, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/mnartists.walkerart.org\/demon-bloomsongs-tamar-ettuns-vivid-somatics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> on the Walker Art Center\u2019s website. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/mnartists.walkerart.org\/demon-bloomsongs-tamar-ettuns-vivid-somatics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a>, the demon sends monthly messages with \u201cdemon drawings and somatic instructions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/mnartists.walkerart.org\/demon-bloomsongs-tamar-ettuns-vivid-somatics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> posted on the Walker\u2019s website also explains how Ettun came up with this art project. \u201cLilit came to [Ettun] when she was at a residency, spending her days and nights in a haunted firehouse-turned-museum making knots and having just found out she was pregnant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Walker Art Center has received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/10-years-later-minnesota-s-legacy-amendment-fueling-small-town-arts\/482669651\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millions of dollars<\/a> in taxpayer funds through Minnesota\u2019s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, which <a href=\"https:\/\/alphanews.org\/alpha-news-investigation-finds-minnesota-taxpayers-spend-millions-promoting-lgbtq-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">routinely funds<\/a> projects with a left-wing agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just look at their Walker Art Center website.
