With one single trans youth law, Democrats usurped parental rights, and they intend to break up families that don\u2019t parent the way <em>they <\/em>would. This is the most dangerous and extremist bill that Democrats have ever passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/billsummary?BillNumber=5599&amp;Year=2023&amp;Initiative=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SB 5599,<\/a> sponsored by far-left state senator Marko Liias (D-Everett), permits shelters and host homes to provide housing for runaway minors. Though the current law requires parental notification of the whereabouts of runaway children, this would consider merely seeking so-called \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d a \u201ccompelling reason\u201d not to notify parents of the child\u2019s whereabouts. Under the state\u2019s care, the child can undergo surgical interventions, like mastectomy and facial feminization, without parental consent. It just passed the House in a party-line vote and now it heads back to the Senate, where it\u2019s expected to pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Democrats hope you think they\u2019re saving trans kids from abusive parents, so you\u2019ll label them heroes. But they\u2019re all villains here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Democrats are lying to you about trans youth law<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrary to claims made by Liias and fellow Democrats, the trans youth law does not require minors to show they\u2019re escaping abuse. In fact, the teen may not even allege abuse. Democrats using this claim to justify the bill are not mistaken or experiencing a mere difference of opinion. They are lying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Democrats rejected an <a href=\"https:\/\/lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov\/biennium\/2023-24\/Pdf\/Amendments\/House\/5599-S.E%20AMH%20COUT%20WICM%20618.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">amendment<\/a> adding language to the bill that says the intent is to address kids who are being harmed by (or could be reasonably harmed by) their parents. Rep. Jamila Taylor (D-Federal Way) said the amendment gets in the way of \u201ckeeping children safe\u201d and that \u201cparental rights are not infinite.\u201d Her response did not make sense. When Republicans forwarded an <a href=\"https:\/\/lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov\/biennium\/2023-24\/Pdf\/Amendments\/House\/5599-S.E%20AMH%20GRIF%20WICM%20616.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">amendment<\/a> noting that it\u2019s important for parents or guardians to know about their children\u2019s mental and physical health so that they can keep them safe, Democrats said no. Rep. Nicole Macri (D-Seattle) inexplicably claimed the amendment would \u201calienate\u201d the kids she pretends she wants to protect. She did not explain how it would alienate them. Her response made no sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Democrats repeatedly said this bill is actually about reunifying families, but it\u2019s not. The parents have no legal recourse to reunite with their runaway child because the state will not inform them of their whereabouts. Only the child can trigger reunification under this law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Democrats even claimed this law is necessary to keep runaways from living on the street. In a theatrically dramatic speech on the House floor, Rep. Taylor disingenuously asked, \u201cAre we not going to do something? Am I going to let them stay out on the streets homeless at risk \u2014 at risk!! \u2014 to being picked up by somebody saying all the right things and make them do all the wrong things?\u201d She said, without this law, the child would be out on the streets and in the cold because they can\u2019t go home to abusive parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taylor thinks you\u2019re ignorant enough to buy her overwrought performance. Without this new law, a child \u2014 any child \u2014 has access to youth shelters. She\u2019s arguing for something that already exists, but doesn\u2019t think you know that. She doesn\u2019t have her own kids; she wants yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Rep. Democrat lawmakers spent their debate on this issue arguing just that. And when you see what\u2019s happening in classrooms across the state, the danger to children and families is real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Educators actively keep gender identity issues from their students\u2019 parents. Manipulative educators, informed by their fringe ideological agenda and hero complex, can very easily convince vulnerable teens that their parents don\u2019t want what\u2019s best for them. Imagine them pitching the virtues of running away for hormone replacement and electrolysis. If you think this is even slightly possible, know the bill offers zero protection for the kid in this situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington Democrats view it as abusive when a parent shows <em>any<\/em> reluctance to immediately and unconditionally accept a young child\u2019s claim of holding one of the 17,000 different genders Democrats told them to pick from. Though Democrats say a teen murderer one day shy of an 18th birthday should avoid life in jail because they do not have developed-enough brains to understand the crime they committed, apparently a 13-year-old girl who claims to be a boy, at her teacher\u2019s nudging, is worthy of hormone therapy without parental consent, while living in what Democrats pretend is a \u201csafe house.\u201d Want to know where concerns over \u201cgrooming\u201d come from? Look at this bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Republicans pursued an amendment noting that \u201clack of adequate affirmation\u201d shouldn\u2019t be grounds for claims of neglecting a child, Democrats again voted no. Rep. Tana Senn (D-Mercer Island) said the bill is only about \u201cgetting kids housed.\u201d She then said, \u201caffirmation is really important. People do die from a lack of support.\u201d If you don\u2019t immediately affirm the desire of a child to take hormone blockers, Senn believes parents must lose their rights over their child. We\u2019re supposed to pretend that kids only run away from unloving homes; that irrational children might not run away for the wrong reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Rep <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TanaSenn?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TanaSenn<\/a> (D-Mercer Island) argued against an amendment noting &#8220;lack of adequate affirmation&#8221; of a child \u2014 by saying no to mastectomy or hormone therapy or questioning gender identity decisions \u2014 is not neglect. This trans youth law is the first step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I try to focus on policy, and not people. While I don\u2019t always succeed, I do always try because I understand that as much as I do not like certain policies because I believe they do harm, it can be subjective. While I understand that advocates for policies that I may oppose could be well-intentioned, I cannot extend the same presumption to Washington Democrats with this bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I cannot argue that I\u2019m merely subjectively arguing my position on the bill because I\u2019m not arguing anything at all. I\u2019m pointing out exactly what the bill allows. Democrats are lying about what\u2019s in it. They\u2019re not misinterpreting, they\u2019re not offering good-faith analysis that I disagree with. They are flat-out lying. These lies are made more dangerous because of how few people know what they\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local media refuses to cover this bill in any meaningful way. Our so-called newspaper of record, the Seattle Times, appears to have only covered this bill once via an editorial from the Senate sponsors. Many of the paper\u2019s far-left staff are formerly of the Stranger and the only difference between the two, as far as news coverage, is one uses vulgarity and the other receives it from readers smart enough to see through the bias. KING 5 offered its typical disingenuous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.king5.com\/article\/news\/local\/olympia\/legislation-safeguarding-youth-protected-health-services-clears-house\/281-baba427b-7a5c-4a3b-88e6-4324e66cd7f9#:~:text=%E2%80%94%20Legislation%20focused%20on%20protecting%20youth,39%20vote%2C%20with%20two%20excused.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">coverage<\/a> when they support a bill. They used an inaccurate Governor Jay Inslee quote to lie about the bill, which is a result of incompetence, nefarious intent, or both. I could not find any other coverage in Seattle media outside of KTTH.com and MyNorthwest.com. The public knows little about what this bill will do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Democrats usually benefit from left-wing media coverage. Here, they benefit by a lack of coverage. They don\u2019t have to debate their positions in places the public will see because there are no media demands that Democrats defend their bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any loving parent who reads the trans youth bill, regardless of their ideological position, should be alarmed. Share this article or <a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/billsummary?BillNumber=5599&amp;Year=2023&amp;Initiative=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">share the bill itself<\/a>. It will go up for a vote in the Senate and, without grassroots activism, it will pass and be signed into law. It\u2019s likely too late to win this one, but you will hate yourself if you do not at least try to appeal to Democrat lawmakers to, at the very least, change the language to apply <em>only&nbsp;<\/em>to abused kids.
