Since some of this seems to be teams, possibly cartels and sex trafficking, being armed might not be enough, but with the proper resistance they might move on to easier targets. And I&#8217;d packup my gear at night so I could just move on if suspicious people show up. There certainly seems to be some predators operating in certain areas and the police don&#8217;t seem to be able or willing to do anything. And if this is your lifestyle, a satellite phone is worth the expense, but be prepared to defend yourself for a quite a while. If not, stick to more populated campsites and areas. And your vehicle can also be used as a weapon, with custom steel bumpers maybe being worth the expense, especially with reports of them trying to box you in.
