There is no escaping the attention of God, nor escaping the sentence of death, as no human being measures up to the standard of God’s holiness, And God is just in judging those He created in His very own creation. But throughout time God has reconciled with those who believe He is real and will trust Him, for God came into His creation as one of us human beings without sin taking our punishment Himself, so that he could remain just while forgiving our transgressions, which He paid on our behalf. And what a tragedy for those that reject this free offer God promises to fulfill.

Consequently, I have a theory from the last couple chapters of Revelation that Christ is telling us the unsaved are outside the gates of the New Jerusalem, forever able to see the city where God dwells, but never able to enter. Tormented for eternity that they refused to believe and are separated from God. Of course they would have also served time in hell until the new heavens and earth are created, but what a tragedy. And on earth in this sinful world run by fallen angels, what was worth this eternal punishment? Only the desires of the sick and deceitful heart…

Jeremiah 17

The Sin of Judah

[1] “The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron; with a point of diamond it is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of their altars, [2] while their children remember their altars and their Asherim, beside every green tree and on the high hills, [3] on the mountains in the open country.
