California is many things, a lot of them not so great in modern times under the regime of extremist Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Democrat machine that has run both chambers of the legislature for the last 15 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing they are not, however, is friendly to nuclear families<\/a>. Newsom, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and the wild-eyed lawmakers in Sacramento are constantly pushing things like boys in women\u2019s sports<\/a>, schools keeping students\u2019 gender transitions secret<\/a>, and basically trying to remove parental influence<\/a> as much as possible. They evidently subscribe to Hillary Clinton\u2019s theory that it \u201ctakes a village\u201d to raise a child \u2014 and it doesn\u2019t matter if the biological parents are part of that village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To wit, your kids could soon simply divorce you in the Golden State if they don\u2019t like you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe you\u2019re an evil conservative, or maybe you want to talk to your 6\u2019 2\u201d son about his choice to wear lipstick and dresses, or maybe you want your darling daughter to stop taking drugs. Whatever the conflict is, the kid could just say \u201ckiss off\u201d and be done with you forever, if Democrat legislator Rick Zbur gets his way<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assembly Bill 1967<\/a> is moving through the California<\/a> Legislature with barely a ripple of public attention. The bill, authored by LGBTQ rights activist-turned-Assemblymember Rick Zbur, would allow children of any age to initiate state dependency proceedings against their own parents. The parents will not even know this has happened until the die is already cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill allows any minor residing in any residential facility to file a legal application against their parents, without cause or evidence of harm.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Women Are Real (@WomenAreReals<\/a>), a website and social media account that advocates for single-sex spaces like locker rooms (\u201cWomen will not be erased in language or in law,\u201d they write<\/a>), point out what they think is the real intent of the proposed bill:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the real purpose of this bill is removing children from parents who refuse to \u201caffirm\u201d a child\u2019s cross-sex identity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This bill is written broadly, but the political purpose is obvious. Activists wish to create a pathway for children to escape parents who refuse to affirm a cross-sex identity.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The details in the bill are chilling, according to The Post Millennial:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residential facilities include drug rehabilitation programs, boarding schools, wilderness therapy programs, faith-based residential programs, and runaway shelters. It does not matter whether the facility is safe and an appropriate placement chosen by the parents. The child can petition the court to strip the parents of custodial authority and substitute county child welfare control or foster placement. The application need not be corroborated by any adult and need not be served on the parents. The child\u2019s statement alone is sufficient to trigger a mandatory assessment of the parents\u2019 home. This assessment can occur without the parents\u2019 knowledge.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For many far-left California lawmakers, they\u2019d love to do away with parents altogether and let the NGOs with fat taxpayer-funded bank accounts and the all-powerful unions raise the kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
