California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) needs to work on his pandering skills – after telling a crowd of black people that he’s just like them because he can’t read and got a low SAT score<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I\u2019m not trying to impress you, I\u2019m just trying to impress upon you, \u2018I\u2019m like you. I\u2019m not better than you.\u2019 I\u2019m a 960 SAT guy<\/strong>,” Newsom told Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickins during a Sunday night event promoting his new book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“And I\u2019m not trying to offend anyone,<\/strong>” the potential 2028 Democratic contender continued. “I\u2019m not trying to act all there if you got 940 \u2026 You\u2019ve never seen me read a speech because I cannot read a speech.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of note, the average SAT score for blacks is a 907 out of a possible 1600, according to 2024 College Board data<\/a>, while white SAT takers received an average of 1083. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
