Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is reportedly working to elevate Gavin Newsom as a potential Democratic candidate for the 2028 U.S. presidential election, according to multiple political news outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pelosi, who is retiring from Congress this year, has publicly and privately praised Newsom\u2019s leadership and aimed to leverage her extensive network of donors and party contacts to boost his national profile. She has described Newsom as a strong leader and significant Democratic voice, and has been active in both public statements and behind-the-scenes advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a Gavin fan-girl and she doesn\u2019t crush on many people,\u201d one former Pelosi aide told Axios<\/a>. \u201cI will say this: She\u2019s hardly ever wrong. When she says she sees something, it\u2019s a real thing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day before the referendum, both Pelosi and Newsom held a joint presser in which they praised each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
