She has described Newsom as a strong leader and significant Democratic voice, and has been active in both public statements and behind-the-scenes advocacy.

“She’s a Gavin fan-girl and she doesn’t crush on many people,” one former Pelosi aide told Axios. “I will say this: She’s hardly ever wrong. When she says she sees something, it’s a real thing.”

Political observers noted that Pelosi’s support could provide early momentum for Newsom, who has not formally announced a White House bid but has increased his national visibility through media appearances and speaking engagements. Pelosi’s endorsement comes at a time when Democrats are beginning to shape their field ahead of the 2028 primary cycle.

Pelosi’s ongoing involvement with Newsom underscores her continued influence in Democratic politics even as she leaves congressional leadership, and signals potential early alignment around his potential presidential ambitions.

“From the standpoint of leadership, vision, and values, knowledge of the issues, strategic thinking about how to get things done …. he’s masterful,” she told The New Yorker, a statement that was so lavished with praise it even stunned former aides to the two-time House Speaker.

“I’ve seen him grow politically, I’ve also seen him have this beautiful family, and for all of us who love him, seeing him evolve has been wonderful to behold,” Pelosi told Vogue.

“Everybody thinks of Gavin and a silver spoon. Newsom believes Speaker Pelosi is the epitome of selfless public service and will go down in history as one of the most consequential leaders of our time.”

An artificial intelligence model has generated a speculative forecast about the 2028 U.S. presidential election, meanwhile, despite official candidates not yet being known, which is drawing attention on social media and YouTube.

The forecast was produced using Grok, an AI chatbot developed by the company associated with Elon Musk, after a YouTube channel asked the system to simulate a likely outcome based on a set of hypothetical candidates. The simulation included state-by-state projections, an electoral map, and projected vote totals for chosen figures from both major parties.

As the host explains, “In this video, I asked Grok AI to predict the 2028 presidential election and give us a map forecast.”

In the end, Vance was predicted to take 312 electoral votes to Harris’ 212, according to the simulation; 270 are needed to win the presidency.

On the Democratic side, Kamala Harris currently holds the lead in early primary polling with 32 percent of the support, putting her ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has 23.8 percent, per the simulation.

This was the perfect time to play this clip on California Politics, which actually mentions that Gavin Newscum is Pelosi’s nephew.
