(The Daily Signal<\/a>)\u2014A group of Democrats<\/a> recently unveiled their \u201cTrans Bill of Rights<\/a>,\u201d which conservatives claim would undo many of President Donald Trump\u2019s efforts to protect female-only spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The \u201cTrans Bill of Rights\u201d claims to push back against the \u201cfear\u201d and \u201chatred\u201d propelled by those who believe that one\u2019s sex corresponds to their biological sex<\/a>. One of the original co-sponsors, Rep. Seth Moulton<\/a>, D-Mass., said in a press release that the resolution aims to direct the federal government to expand transgender access to public \u201cservices\u201d and \u201caccommodations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The legislation aims to ensure that \u201ctransgender and non-binary people\u201d get \u201cequal access\u201d to \u201cservices and public accommodations that align with their gender identity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The bill also states that people who claim to be transgender should be allowed to access \u201cthe full range of places and services that members of the general public utilize.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The bill does not explicitly specify what public \u201caccommodations\u201d would be impacted by the legislation, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While several of the main Democrats pushing the \u201cTrans Bill of Rights,\u201d did not respond to The Daily Signal\u2019s request for comment, conservative policy experts believe making the \u201cTrans Bill of Rights\u201d law would destroy female-only spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jay Richards, vice president of Social and Domestic Policy at the Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal that the \u201cpublic accommodations\u201d in question could include women\u2019s bathrooms, locker rooms and personal spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m certain that\u2019s what the drafters intend,\u201d Richards told The Daily Signal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Other provisions include allowing taxpayer funded transition surgeries and abortion. it would also require institutions to recognize one\u2019s gender identity, or lack thereof, as a legitimate biological gender, which Richards considered to be harmful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe bill would promote experimental, body-altering interventions for minors,\u201d Richards stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Senior Policy Analyst at the Heritage Foundation Laura Hanford echoed Richard\u2019s remarks and told The Daily Signal that by allowing gender affirming care to take place, this \u201cBill of Rights\u201d could further harm children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThey will continue to try and portray the Administration\u2019s actions as excessive in an effort to make themselves look like they are protecting those they are, in fact, harming,\u201d Hanford said. \u201cThis \u2018Bill of Right\u2019 is an effort to continue to claim that erasing woman and harming children is a \u2018right\u2019 to protect rather than an excess to abolish.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n In November, the Department of Health and Human Services described gender affirming care as \u201csex rejecting procedures\u201d that pose \u201cmedical dangers<\/a>\u201d to \u201cchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even though the Trump administration has fought to eliminate transgender ideology and gender affirming care procedures, Hanford and others worry that those actions could be reversed under a future Democrat administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhile the Trump Administration has secured tremendous gains such as gender clinics pausing sex-rejecting procedures, these can readily be reversed in a new administration,\u201d Hanford said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Trump administration has aggressively pushed to reverse the progressive transgender ideology that pervaded former President Joe Biden\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Feb. 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order<\/a> that banned biological males from competing in federally funded women\u2019s sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump argued that allowing men who identify as women in women\u2019s sports is a direct violation of Title IX of the Education Act of 1972, which states that educational institutions receiving federal funds cannot deny women an equal opportunity to participate in sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Congress has also voted on key legislation surrounding transgender ideology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
