So at the moment I wouldn&#8217;t buy anything else from Canada if the manufacturer wasn&#8217;t eating the tariff. I can only imagine how this works out with large importers and manufacturers, especially with all the uncertainty. Other exports, including Canadian canola meal, lobsters, crabs, and peas will also not be subject to Chinese anti-discrimination tariffs until at least the end of 2026.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/22canada-carney-bjtg-jumbo_jpg.jpg?itok=4lRTZd2y\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/22canada-carney-bjtg-jumbo_jpg.jpg?itok=4lRTZd2y\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/22canada-carney-bjtg-jumbo_jpg.jpg?itok=4lRTZd2y\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A week later<\/strong>, Carney told the global elite at Davos resort that the &#8220;rules-based order&#8221; established by the United States and its allies following WW2 was fraying amid the current rivalry between China and America, so <strong>the &#8220;middle powers must act together because if we&#8217;re not on the table, we&#8217;re on the menu.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carney said that for their survival, <strong>nations should no longer \u201cgo along to get along\u201d with Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This flew up Donald Trump&#8217;s ass sideways, who issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/115950424403894234\">response<\/a> on Truth Social Saturday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201c<strong>If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a \u2018Drop Off Port\u2019 for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken. <\/strong>China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric, and general way of life,\u201d Trump said in a post on Truth Social on the morning of Jan. 24.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cIf Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A. Thank you for your attention to this matter!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump\u2019s reference to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney as \u201cGovernor\u201d marks a return to the relations the U.S. president had with Carney\u2019s predecessor, former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, using the title to reflect his view that Canada should be part of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the WEF, Trump said that &#8220;Canada gets a lot of freebies from us. By the way, they should be grateful also, but they\u2019re not,\u201d adding,&nbsp;&#8220;<strong>Canada lives because of the United States<\/strong>.
