Though Discord and several other platforms are blocked in Iran, but there was a move to install Tor servers within the country that would allow hidden services or outside links to blocked platforms. And Discord servers can be operated by anyone and even as a darknet service. Also, you can exclude Tor servers from particular countries to limit government operations to identify you (<a href=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/index.php\/2025\/12\/12\/the-german-and-netherlands-tor-nodes-problem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I exclude the Netherlands and Germany<\/a> servers as there are too many and it seems highly suspicious with those countries having bad reputations). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/iran-grinds-halt-several-killed-wounded-including-irgc-member-amid-raging-protests\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/iran-grinds-halt-several-killed-wounded-including-irgc-member-amid-raging-protests<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-divider ub_divider ub-divider-orientation-horizontal\" id=\"ub_divider_3fb85064-a80b-49cd-9118-ee83ad03158d\"><div class=\"ub_divider_wrapper\" style=\"position: relative; margin-bottom: 2px; width: 100%; height: 2px; \" data-divider-alignment=\"center\"><div class=\"ub_divider_line\" style=\"border-top: 2px solid #ccc; margin-top: 2px; \"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p>By Tyler Durden<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reuters and other international outlets have reported <strong>several people killed <\/strong>amid unrest in Iran overnight into Thursday, as the large-scale economic-driven protests which have swept multiple cities reach the fifth consecutive day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The semi-official Fars news agency and rights group Hengaw reported deaths in Lordegan, a city in western Iran,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/one-person-killed-iran-protests-over-economic-woes-2026-01-01\/\">Reuters<\/a> writes. &#8220;Authorities confirmed one death in the western city of Kuhdasht, and Hengaw reported another death in the central province of Isfahan.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/iranpr.jpg?itok=iP0976T7\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At least one among the dead is reported to be a government security force member, as demonstrators clash with police, and amid some reports of possible live fire being used to quell the unrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>A member of Iran&#8217;s security forces was killed<\/strong> during a fourth day of protests in the country, which have been sparked by a currency collapse, officials have said,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c2d7g8krj2po\">BBC<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Citing regional chief justice Saeed Shahvari, Iran&#8217;s judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency said Amir Hessam Khodayari Fard was killed in the city of Kouhdasht, in the western Lorestan province, on Wednesday,&#8221; it added, stating that several more police and security members were injured, mostly as a result of stone-throwing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was said to be a member of the <strong>Basij &#8211; a paramilitary force linked to Iran&#8217;s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/strong>. In several locales Basij members have been observed supporting local police forces, as is typical whenever major anti-government protests flare up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Footage verified by BBC Persian <strong>appears to show security forces firing at protesters<\/strong> in the city on the same day,&#8221; the report also notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the government&#8217;s counter-narrative has quickly emerged, with state-linked Fars News Agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ynetnews.com\/article\/rj85xzevzx\">citing<\/a> an &#8220;informed source&#8221; to say that <strong>&#8220;armed protesters&#8221; have stirred up anti-police violence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Fox: &#8220;Footage shows protesters tearing down a government gate in southern Iran. The country is on a backfoot economically, militarily, its nuclear program decimated or at least set back by years, and there&#8217;s eroding trust &#8211; especially as&nbsp;authorities have tried and executed dozens for alleged Israeli-links.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is perhaps why <strong>President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged calm<\/strong>, and taken the rare step of saying the government will listen to the <strong>&#8220;legitimate demands&#8221; of the protesters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with prior years&#8217; protests, including the so-called &#8216;anti-hijab&#8217; protests sparked by women, there&#8217;s much that&#8217;s hard to verify in terms of reporting, as activists outside the country seek to amplify hard to prove claims amid the fast-moving events on the ground. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/israel-tried-turn-iranian-generals-against-ayatollah-just-bombs-fell\">External actors<\/a>&nbsp;(whether MEK, pre-1979 monarchists, the US, or Israel) will no doubt seek to hijack the protests, and there could be intelligence infiltration<\/strong>.
