And unlike Popeye&#8217;s, that moved to a mostly beef tallow oil blend still containing seed oil, they&#8217;re 100% beef tallow like the old McDonald&#8217;s fries we used to love. Too bad as that was a popular stop when going down to Fort Collins, Co. The company will source A2 milk from cows that \u201conly produce A2 type protein\u201d and are \u201cnever treated with growth hormone rBST.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A1 and A2 are the different types of milk&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/bright\/all-about-a2-milk-the-all-natural-easier-to-digest-cows-milk-disrupting-stomach-discomfort-2699851\">proteins<\/a> produced by cows, with some animals\u2019 milk having both proteins, while others have one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to an August 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC9407547\/\">study<\/a> published in the National Library of Medicine, <strong>\u201cthere seems to be a sufficient consensus on the beneficial effects of A2 milk on the reduction in digestive intolerance associated with the consumption of A1 milk.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis positive effect is of great importance, since a good part of the consumers who have abandoned milk consumption have done so because conventional milk causes them discomfort,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodrx.com\/well-being\/diet-nutrition\/what-is-a2-milk\">lactose<\/a> intolerance will also face issues with A2 milk. However, for individuals who only have casein A1 intolerance, A2 milk may offer relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scrapehero.com\/location-reports\/Steak%20n%20Shake-USA\/\">data<\/a> analysis company Scrape Hero, Steak \u2018n Shake has nearly 400 outlets across 24 U.S. states, with the number declining from a peak of 600 before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the outlets are based in Florida, Illinois, and Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steak \u2018n Shake\u2019s switch comes at a time when Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been promoting the consumption of milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a news <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/zkgcTi6iYIA\">conference<\/a> in July, Kennedy said: <strong>\u201cI grew up in a world where milk was the healthiest thing that you could eat. There\u2019s been an attack on whole milk, cheese, and yogurt over the past couple of decades.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture plan to release new dietary guidelines that aim to \u201celevate those products where they ought to be in terms of contributing to the health of our children.\u201d The new guidelines are expected to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/rfk-jr-says-new-dietary-guidelines-delayed-until-december-5941093\">released<\/a> next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding fries, Steak \u2018n Shake <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SteaknShake\/status\/1983251881729438190\">announced<\/a> in an Oct. 29 X post: \u201cOur fries could be partially cooked in 100 percent beef tallow before they\u2019re shipped to us. And then we cook them again in 100 percent beef tallow at the restaurant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kennedy has been an ardent backer of beef tallow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In an Oct. 22, 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RobertKennedyJr\/status\/1848499491151745180\">post<\/a> on X, he said McDonald\u2019s used to make its fries with beef tallow from 1940 before beginning to phase it out for seed oils in 1990.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis switch was made because saturated animal fats were thought to be unhealthy, but we have since discovered that seed oils are one of the driving causes of the obesity epidemic. Interestingly enough, this began to drastically rise around the same time fast food restaurants switched from beef tallow to seed oils in their fryers,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople who enjoy a burger with fries on a night out aren\u2019t to blame, and Americans should have every right to eat out at a restaurant without being unknowingly poisoned by heavily subsidized seed oils. It\u2019s time to Make Frying Oil Tallow Again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an earlier Oct. 19 X post, Steak \u2018n Shake <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SteaknShake\/status\/1979712134411129208\">said<\/a> that it eliminated seed oils from its fries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The American Heart Association (AHA) does not argue against&nbsp;consuming saturated fats, such as beef tallow, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart.org\/en\/healthy-living\/healthy-eating\/eat-smart\/fats\/saturated-fats\">advises<\/a> limiting their intake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AHA recommends that saturated fats make up less than 6 percent of an individual\u2019s daily total calories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Headline article below) It&#8217;s still probably pasteurized destroying a lot of nutrition (pasteurization was created for wine and a magazine fabrication led to milk being pasteurized which favors large commercial operations not so hygienic), but this is another interesting move towards healthier ingredients.
