He woke up to a nightmare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overnight, Lebanon\u2019s banking collapse wiped out his life\u2019s savings, leaving him with just $70 in his pocket. <em>\u201cThe banks had stolen everybody\u2019s money from all accounts across the country,\u201d<\/em> he recalls in a raw, unfiltered conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI went from thinking I was retired to being homeless, homeless in the sense that the banks had stolen everybody\u2019s money from all accounts across the country.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This catastrophic loss wasn\u2019t just a personal tragedy, it was the spark that ignited Yazbeck\u2019s transformation into a Bitcoin evangelist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, he\u2019s the co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheBitcoinWay_\"><em>The Bitcoin Way<\/em><\/a>, a company dedicated to empowering individuals to secure their wealth through bitcoin self-custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Yazbeck, Bitcoin is more than just a financial tool. Retirement in his early 40s seemed like a reward well-earned until it vanished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lebanon, once a global banking exemplar, unraveled in 2019, plunging its citizens into chaos. <em>\u201cI don\u2019t know if you know this, but Lebanon was leading the banking system for 30 years before the collapse,\u201d<\/em> Yazbeck explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt was the golden role model for banks globally to copy.\u201d<\/em> Yet, even this \u201cfive-star\u201d system stole his savings, held in U.S. dollars, not Lebanese pounds, proving no fiat stronghold is immune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aftermath was apocalyptic. <em>\u201cPeople were going in at gunpoint into banks, not to steal the money, to recuperate their own savings,\u201d<\/em> he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Society crumbled as desperation took hold: bartering haircuts for tomatoes, good people driven to madness, and one haunting memory\u200a\u2014\u200aa man setting himself on fire 30 meters away, screaming about feeding his children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s a horror movie no producer is able to put together,\u201d<\/em> Yazbeck reflects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For nearly a year, he spiraled into a \u201cvery dark depression,\u201d avoiding computers and human contact, fueled by \u201cunhealthy anger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, a chance encounter with an old video by Bitcoin educator <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinnews.com\/opinion\/andreas-antonopoulos-bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Andreas Antonopoulos<\/a>\u200a\u2014\u200aspeaking alone to a small room of seven people\u200a\u2014\u200ashifted his trajectory. <em>\u201cFor some reason, it really resonated with me,\u201d<\/em> Yazbeck recalls. <em>\u201cI\u2019m like, what is this guy talking about? Is he crazy?\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bitcoin: The Unbreakable Revelation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Skeptical but intrigued, Yazbeck dove into Bitcoin with the ferocity of a cybersecurity expert intent on exposing flaws. <em>\u201cI tried to blow it up. I tried to destroy it. I tried to debunk it. I tried to do everything,\u201d<\/em> he admits. <em>\u201cI failed spectacularly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even more astonishing? <em>\u201cGovernments have been trying to do this for many years\u2026 with all their resources, these idiots also failed spectacularly.\u201d<\/em> Bitcoin\u2019s resilience wasn\u2019t just impressive, it was revelatory for Tony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThat\u2019s when I realized Bitcoin\u2019s like exponentially more decentralized and stronger than it\u2019s ever been,\u201d<\/em> he says. <em>\u201cIt\u2019s never going to happen\u200a\u2014\u200athey\u2019ve even admitted it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This epiphany pulled Yazbeck from the abyss. Bitcoin wasn\u2019t just a recovery mechanism but a rebellion with a chance to overcome the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinnews.com\/markets\/national-debt-of-the-united-states-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ponzi<\/a>\u201d that is fiat currency.<br>A system Tony understandably sees as <em>\u201ca scam, a fraud, a tool of manipulation\u2026 a tool of war, control, censorship, all the bad, evil things in the world.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With newfound purpose, he vowed, <em>\u201cWhat happened to me can never happen again.\u201d<\/em> Bitcoin became his phoenix, rising from the ashes of his upended life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bitcoin Way: Self-Custody as Empowerment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, after freelancing and \u201corange-pilling\u201d anyone who\u2019d listen, from gas clerks to grocery shoppers, Yazbeck co-founded <em>The Bitcoin Way<\/em> with partner Endi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their mission? To teach people how to wield Bitcoin\u2019s power through self-custody, ensuring no bank, government, or third party can ever strip them of their wealth again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cBitcoin in self-custody, man\u2026 when your turn comes to get f*****, you will understand why that message is the most important message the world has ever heard,\u201d<\/em> he says with unapologetic intensity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yazbeck\u2019s philosophy is uncompromisingly rooted in Satoshi Nakamoto\u2019s white paper. <em>\u201cThere\u2019s not a single letter in there that mentions anything else other than personal responsibility and self-custody,\u201d<\/em> he insists. ETFs, collaborative custody, and multi-currency wallets?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cComplete rubbish,\u201d<\/em> he scoffs, arguing they <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinnews.com\/markets\/bitcoin-etf-approval-convenience-cost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">undermine Bitcoin\u2019s essence<\/a>. <em>\u201cIf your money is not in self-custody, you have no money. Very simple.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Bitcoin Way<\/em> simplifies this ethos into actionable education. They guide clients step-by-step\u200a\u2014\u200aoften over multiple hour-long consults\u200a\u2014\u200ato master air-gapped hardware wallets like Coldcard, Foundation Passport, etc, which never touch the internet for maximum security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe break it down into a series of steps. We\u2019re really good teachers,\u201d<\/em> Yazbeck says. <em>\u201cI speak plain English to translate some of the most complicated terms.\u201d<\/em> Their process ensures even tech novices can secure their bitcoin, manage seed phrases, and recover funds if disaster strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIf it all blows up tomorrow\u200a\u2014\u200ayour computer, your cold wallet, all of it goes to hell\u200a\u2014\u200ayou sleep well at night knowing everything can be reconstructed in under an hour,\u201d<\/em> he promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it\u2019s more than wallets. That\u2019s Bitcoin.
