By Frank Bergman<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a landmark ruling, a U.S. federal court has declared that influenza vaccines cause Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome, an incurable and life-threatening neurological disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ruling was issued by the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The court sided with Alan Lien of Wisconsin, who had suffered life-changing injuries caused by a flu shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lien was awarded $500,000 in damages for his vaccine-induced injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It marks a significant ruling under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The judgment follows Lien\u2019s diagnosis of Guillain-Barr\u00e9 Syndrome (GBS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The court determined that Lien\u2019s GBS was caused by a flu shot received in October 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Represented by attorney Randy Knutson of the Knutson Casey Law Firm<\/a>, Lien filed his petition in October 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Vaccine Court ruled in February 2023 that Lien was entitled to compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A final settlement, agreed upon in March 2025, provides a lump sum payment to cover damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lien received compensation for lost income after he was forced to leave his job as a Frito-Lay driver due to the condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis decision acknowledges the serious, life-changing impact of GBS and helps provide much-needed support to Mr. Lien,\u201d said Knutson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The VICP was established in 1986.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The program is funded by a federal excise tax on vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The VICP serves as a no-fault alternative to traditional legal action for vaccine-related injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cases are adjudicated by the Vaccine Court in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The news comes amid growing safety concerns about \u201croutine\u201d flu vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following a major study, the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic recently confirmed<\/a> that influenza vaccines are ineffective at preventing flu cases and only increase the risk of harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The verdict on the flu vaccine from the Cleveland Clinic\u2019s large-scale prospective cohort study has delivered a shocking blow to the mass vaccination agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The study found that not only was the vaccine ineffective, but it was also associated with a significantly increased risk of infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The findings of the study led by Dr. Nabin Shrestha, the head of the Cleveland Clinic\u2019s Departments of Infectious Diseases, were published in the MedRvix journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The study tracked over 53,000 employees during the 2024\u20132025 respiratory viral season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The researchers sought to assess whether the influenza vaccine offered protection against laboratory-confirmed influenza infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The results raise serious questions about this season\u2019s flu vaccine and the broader assumptions behind annual mandates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F.
